Screen Printing

Improvements in screen printing equipment has vastly improved over the years, and Sonntag has kept up with these changes by installing multicolor presses to bring our customers the newest technology.

There is more to just setting up a press and letting it run. Ink densities for 4-color process look different on various substrates and in diverse lighting and there re a multitude of variables unique to each press. Our printers are trained to check for correct drying of inks, registration, stock shrinkage and dot gain, among others, that effect the success of each print. In addition an ongoing training program and daily production meetings address situations as they arise.

Investments in the Newman roller frames, pneumatic stretching systems for consistently high tension screens, and strict tolerance coating techniques assure quality from print to print. Each screen is work hardened and tested with tension meters before imaging and release into production runs. Each imaged screen is checked for discrepancies from film to screen.
